I watched America After Ferguson and it was great to see true discourse on such a hard subject – racism. Some don’t think it exists still because after all we are so many years after the Civil War and slavery, BUT people fail to remember that we are not that far removed from the civil rights movement. Statistically TODAY the rate at which unarmed black men are killed by police (1 every 28 hours) is MORE than the rate at which blacks were lynched (1-2 every week). I don’t even know what the statistics are for other hate crimes, but I’m sure they are just as dismal. This issue of racism (of EQUALITY really) needs our attention and our correction as a society. I think the video below is a great start, but the comments below the article are both telling and sad. (Side note: the video is 1 hour long although it says it’s 4 hours)
