About

Queen D. Scott is an unconventional hip-hop educator and MC with a mission to empower and inspire authenticity from the stage to the classroom. Combining her classical piano background, fluency in music technology and production, and a lifelong fascination with wordplay, she immerses audiences in rich lyrical and musical storytelling. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, she made history as the campus' first female MC in its Jazz Hip-Hop Orchestra — and again in 2006 when she joined the faculty as the first MC to teach at the institution. Her teaching challenges students to investigate art beyond technique, rooting creative expression in cultural context, social awareness, and integrity.

Scott's talent and expertise have taken her around the world, leading master classes and workshops in hip-hop history, lyrical analysis, and vocal performance. She currently serves as a professor in the Ensemble Department at Berklee College of Music and is a PhD student in Brown University's Music & Multimedia Composition program. Her latest release, "Lift Every Voice" — a hip-hop/soul interpretation of the Black National Anthem — is available on all streaming platforms.
